WHAT IS THE IP STANDARD?
IP stands for Ingress Protection, meaning the Ingress Protection or International (Internal) Protection mark. The IP rating is an important piece of information in determining the level of protection of a device. When talking about a product's dust and water resistance, terms such as "IP rating," "IP protection rating," or "IP protection level" are commonly used, all conveying the same meaning. Usually, the letters IP are followed by two numbers, indicating the level of protection the device has against external elements such as dust and water. This gives users more peace of mind when using the device in conditions where it may be exposed to these substances, without worrying about damage.

THE MEANING OF SYMBOLS IN THE IP STANDARD
The meaning of the IP rating on a device varies depending on the two digits following the letters IP. Generally, a higher IP rating indicates better protection against solid objects and liquids (such as dust and water).
- Meaning of the First Number: Dust Protection Level
