Fukushima Prefecture is the southernmost prefecture of the Tohoku region, divided by a mountain range that stretches across three areas (from west to east): Aizu, Nakadori, and Hamadori. The coastal Hamadori region faces the Pacific Ocean and is the flattest and most temperate area, while Nakadori is the agricultural center of the prefecture, including the capital city, Fukushima. The mountainous Aizu region boasts tranquil lakes, lush forests, and snowy winters.

Fukushima is located in the northern part of Tohoku and borders the Pacific Ocean. It boasts a diverse and rich array of tourist attractions, particularly the Oū mountain range, and Lake Inawashiro in Aizu.
