WHAT IS AN AMPLIFIER?

An amplifier is an extremely important device in an audio system. Its function is to receive input signals from the player or microphone, then process these signals and amplify them to the speakers. 1. Amplifier Structure

- Amplifier power transformer : The power transformer's function is to convert the 110V/220V mains voltage down to a lower voltage of approximately 30-50 VAC, then pass it through a rectifier and filter capacitor to produce a symmetrical DC voltage.

- Power supply filter capacitor: The power supply filter capacitor's function is to store electrical energy for all the electronic components inside the amplifier to operate and help stabilize the voltage.

- Power amplifier circuit: This is one of the most important parts of an amplifier, and manufacturers invest heavily in designing amplifier circuits that are less prone to interference and have the highest fidelity.

2. How an Amplifier Works

The operating principle of an amplifier can be simply understood as follows: When an audio signal is input into the amplifier, it passes through filters that process the basic signal. Here, the audio signal continues through impedances that regulate the volume and sends the audio signal to the preamplifier. Next, the preamplifier amplifies the audio signal even more before sending it to the power transistors in the amplifier. In this amplifier, the positive and negative terminals of the power transistors push and pull each other to amplify the audio signal many times more before sending it to the external speakers.

IMPORTANT NOTES WHEN USING AN AMPLIFIER

To use your amplifier most effectively, you should pay attention to the following points to ensure it performs at its best and produces the best sound quality:

- When connecting the amplifier to various audio devices, ensure a secure and reliable connection. Avoid moving the amplifier during use to prevent affecting sound quality.

- When connecting the jacks, be careful not to let the speaker jacks touch each other, as this can cause a short circuit and potentially damage the amplifier.

- It is especially important to avoid overloading the amplifier with too many speakers.

- For safety, always turn off the amplifier before connecting it to other audio devices.

- Amplifiers should not be stacked on top of each other. A distance of 5-15cm should be maintained between the devices. Stacking them will generate significant heat and create magnetic fields that affect the amplifier's sound quality.
